An older simple, inexpensive and quick way to rehabilitate pipes is be slip lining. The process is similar to pipe bursting, except that the new pipe being pulled into the old pipe is of narrower diameter than the old host pipe.
This means the flow capacity is reduced, but in many cases the original pipe was over-sized anyway.

The new pipe is usually High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which is stronger, more resistant to chemicals, and thicker than cured in place pipe lining.
Also, due to its ease of installation and that the host pipe does not have to be cleaned as thoroughly, slip lining can be less costly than other pipe rehabilitation alternatives.
